Affiliates and reselling
Two different things that often get confused: earning a commission for sending someone here, and having the right to sell the scripts yourself.
The affiliate programme
Send someone here, they buy, you get a cut. Tracking and payouts will run on software rather than on trust — every click and every sale recorded, with the same numbers visible to you and to us, so there is never a question of whether your sale was counted.
If you write about marketing tools, run a hosting business whose customers keep asking for this kind of thing, or teach people to build sites, this is probably worth your time. If you were planning to spray links across forums, it is not — we would rather have five sales from people who knew what they were buying than fifty refunds.
Reselling: what the licence actually allows
Buying a script gets you a lot of freedom and one clear limit.
You can
- Install it on as many servers and sites as you personally own or run.
- Install and configure it for a client, as part of work you are doing for them, on a licence you bought.
- Use it to run a service you charge for — running campaigns for clients through your Redirect Manager is fine.
You cannot
- Sell, give away or redistribute the script itself, modified or not.
- Bundle it into a product, theme or package you distribute.
- Publish it anywhere public, including a public repository.
The short version: the licence covers your use of the code, however commercial, but the code itself is not yours to hand on. Full wording on the licence page.
Something wider?
If you want to resell properly — under your own name, or bundled into something you sell, or inside a hosting product — that is a conversation rather than a checkbox, and one we are open to. Write to us and say what you have in mind.
